Once you’ve been on a Voyage, the entire world feels like home…

Overview

Background

At Router Protocol, our mission is to create an interoperable Web 3.0, a chain-agnostic ecosystem where all users can traverse any network seamlessly. While we have a rich product suite, a highly-skilled dev team, and a robust roadmap, we can’t reach our destination if our community is not with us throughout the journey.

Hence, with the objective of facilitating more engagement, we launched Voyage 1.0 earlier this month. Thanks to our community of Voyagers, our first Voyage was a huge success.

Voyage 1.0 in numbers

After surpassing $33 Million in trading volume and adding over 300 new members to our tribe of voyagers in a matter of a few days, we are back for Voyage 2.0. We learned a lot from our inaugural event and are implementing a few changes to enhance everyone’s experience and multiply our results! Continue reading for more information.

Competition Details

Starting from 30th May, we will embark on a 12-day journey of traversing different networks, performing seamless transactions, and earning lucrative rewards. Voyage 2.0 is divided into 3 parts.

Part 1: The Twitter Escapade

This part is to attract new users to our community. All you have to do is follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Perform a cross-chain transaction on Router Protocol (https://app.routerprotocol.com/swap).

Step 2: Follow Router Protocol on Twitter and quote tweet this thread highlighting your experience.

Step 3: Fill out this form.

The first 1000 users to complete this activity will receive 5 $ROUTE each.

Important notes:

  • Only one address per Twitter handle will be eligible for this contest. If more than one entry is found against a Twitter account, only the first entry will be considered.
  • This campaign is only for the new users, i.e., only those addresses that have not interacted with Router’s contract will be eligible for the rewards.

But if you’re an existing user, we’ve got something for you too.

Part 2: The Luck of the Draw

100 lucky users who perform a transaction on our swapping engine will receive 10 $ROUTE each. Both new and existing users are eligible for this reward.

Note: You don’t need to fill out any form to be eligible for this leg of the Voyage.

Part 3: Trade Big, Win Bigger

This part aims to encourage and normalize frequent high ticket cross-chain transactions using Router Protocol. Just like Voyage 1.0, in this edition we’ll maintain two separate rankings based on the following metrics:

  1. Users who have the highest trading volume on Router’s swapping engine.
  2. Users who perform the highest number of transactions.

But unlike the last edition, the reward structure is different for both the leaderboards. Here’s how these rewards will be distributed:

1) For Trading Volume:

In this segment, 1500 $ROUTE will be split between the top 5 traders by trading volume

  • First Position: 500 $ROUTE
  • Second Position: 400 $ROUTE
  • Third Position: 300 $ROUTE
  • Fourth Position:: 200 $ROUTE
  • Fifth Position: 100 $ROUTE

2) For Transaction Count:

In this segment, 2500 $ROUTE will be split between the top 10 traders by transaction count

  • First Position: 750 $ROUTE
  • Second Position: 500 $ROUTE
  • Third Position: 300 $ROUTE
  • Fourth Position: 250 $ROUTE
  • Fifth Position: 200 $ROUTE
  • Sixth Position: 150 $ROUTE
  • Seventh: 125 $ROUTE
  • Eighth Position: 100 $ROUTE
  • Ninth Position: 75 $ROUTE
  • Tenth Position: 50 $ROUTE

Say, if a user finishes with the highest transaction count and the third-highest trading volume, he will be eligible for 750 + 300 = 1050 $ROUTE tokens in rewards.

To maintain continuous transparency, we also have a dynamic leaderboard that will track the statistics of all users and subsequently rank them based on their positions for both metrics separately.

This contest will be live from 30th May 2022 and will end on 10th June 2022.

Important notes:

  • We noticed that a lot of users in Voyage 1.0 used bots to perform transactions and bypass the limit of $10K per transaction imposed by Router’s UI. While we are not opposed to the usage of bots to drive transaction count and trading volume, it gave users who were running bots an unfair advantage. Hence, this time around, we have increased the limit for cross-chain transactions in the UI from $10K to $30K. Note that any transaction above this limit will not be indexed in the results, i,e., will not be counted in either of the metrics (transaction count and trading volume). Through this step, we are not discouraging the use of bots, but merely trying to level the playing field.
  • The reasoning behind directing more rewards towards transaction count rather than trading volume is to drive Router Protocol’s revenues. Currently, we do not have a BPS-based fee model. The bridge fee between two chains is fixed irrespective of the ticket size of the transaction.

Future Competitions

As we conclude this announcement, we want to reiterate that we appreciate every voyager who understands that cross-chain is the key to unlocking the true potential of Web 3.0. Stay tuned for more updates.
