Router Protocol Announces the Integration of Harmony and Cronos
At Router Protocol we believe that the future of Web 3.0 is cross-chain. This is because currently the blockchain ecosystem is plagued with broken composability and interoperability. Every network is maturing in its siloed ecosystem and users can’t leverage the core competencies of multiple different networks at the same time.
Router Protocol is building the foundation of the cross-chain ecosystem by developing a cross-chain communication protocol that currently allows cross-chain asset swaps and cross-chain messages via its SDK called CrossTalk. Router’s swapping DApp is now live at: https://app.routerprotocol.com/
We already have 7 EVM-compatible blockchain networks integrated into our swapping engine. Building on our momentum, we are proud to announce the integration of 2 new networks: Harmony and Cronos.
Why Harmony and Cronos?
We believe that our mission to build a chain agnostic ecosystem is only possible with the help of our community of Voyagers. Hence, in order to support chains that our community wants, we initiated a governance proposal last month.
In our governance proposal, we offered $ROUTE holders on Polygon/Ethereum/BSC and $ROUTE liquidity providers in Dfyn Exchange liquidity pools/farms the right to decide the next two EVM chains to be integrated into Router’s cross-chain mesh. Their votes revealed Harmony and Cronos as clear winners.
What makes Harmony and Cronos Integrations special?
Harmony and Cronos are currently accelerating toward becoming two of the user's favorite blockchain networks. Harmony currently has $1.09 Billion. in TVL as per their website whereas Cronos has $1.60 Billion in TVL, according to DeFiLlama.
Harmony
Harmony is a sharding-based blockchain that is fully scalable, secure, and energy-efficient. Its mainnet runs Ethereum applications with 2-second transaction finality and $0.0001 average cost per transaction. Harmony’s interoperability frees users from being locked on a single platform. Harmony balances the three critical pillars of scalability, security, and decentralization with secure, random state sharding.
Cronos
Cronos is the first Ethereum-compatible blockchain network built on Cosmos SDK technology. An open-source and permission-less Layer 1 chain, Cronos aims to massively scale the DeFi, GameFi, and overall Web3 user community by providing builders with the ability to instantly port apps and crypto assets from other chains while benefiting from low transaction fees, high throughput, and fast finality.
With this integration, Router Protocol’s users can now seamlessly conduct transactions to/from Harmony, Cronos, and existing networks.
About Router Protocol
Router Protocol is building a suite of cross-chain infra primitives that aims to enable blockchain interoperability between current and emerging Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchains.
