Q&A with the Core Team on Router Chain Mainnet, Migration, StakeDrop, and More

On July 25, 2024, the Router Protocol team held an engaging AMA session in our Telegram community, featuring core team members Ramani, Shubham, Priyeshu, Abhishek, Venky, and Vinay. The team addressed various questions from the community, covering topics such as the Router Chain Mainnet, migration, StakeDrop, and more. Here’s a detailed recap of the insightful Q&A session.

Q&A Key Highlights:

Community: Any initiatives to create a multichain wallet with all the integrated chains and in-wallet swaps?

Abhishek (Router Team): While we are not developing this internally, we have been discussing with ecosystem partners to build a wallet that abstracts the chain-separated experience. This wallet would allow users to interact with dApps while keeping funds on their preferred chain. Additionally, we are in talks with existing wallets to integrate Router, leveraging their user base.

Community: Is there a time limit for migration?

Priyeshu (Router Team): The initial time frame is six months, with an extension for another six months if needed.

— -

Community: When do you plan to add BTC to Nitro? When are Solana and INJ coming? What is your approximate date?

Vinay (Router Team): BTC and INJ should be integrated within a few weeks to a month. Solana will follow in a couple of weeks after that.

— -

Community: Do you plan to implement a buy-back burn mechanism with Nitro fees?

Ramani (Router Team): Nitro is an intent-based bridge using Router Chain and serves as a prime example of Router’s capabilities. A portion of Nitro revenues will eventually flow back to the Router Chain automatically, while a bulk will be reinvested in Nitro’s growth. Nitro volumes and fees are expected to grow significantly with new chain integrations.

— -

Community: How do you see the demand side? Are there strong partnerships in the works? Any large players that will put Router Protocol on the map?

Ramani (Router Team): Key strategic integrations, such as Osmosis and Avail, are coming up along with many others. Avail integration is not yet announced and is a significant milestone for us.

— -

Community: What percentage of total supply have FolioX and StakeEase dedicated to the airdrop for the StakeDrop campaign?

Priyeshu (Router Team): The exact percentage will depend on the participation in StakeDrop season 1, ranging between 0.2% to 0.5% of the total supply. The final number will be communicated officially later.

— -

Community: Could you create an LP pair cross-chain through Router Chain, like a Uniswap V2 LP pair hosted on Router Chain, accessible from any chain?

Shubham (Router Team): We already have a team working on something similar on Router.

— -

Community: How do you see intents evolving? What are the next steps?

Abhishek (Router Team): Intents are our major focus. We are building multiple adapters with partners and aim to make these adapters easy for developers to use. We plan to launch a playground for developers to simulate cross-chain adapter transactions and a chat-like experience for users to simplify blockchain interactions.

— -

Community: Do you think Router Protocol technology is better than the competition? How do you plan to become the reference in cross-chain?

Ramani (Router Team): Yes, we believe our technology is superior. Our CCIF paper and innovations like the Stakestone adapter integration set us apart. Our roadmap includes significant advancements that we will share after the mainnet launch.

Shubham (Router Team): From a technical perspective, Router Protocol is well-positioned compared to competitors like LZ and Axelar. Our functional intent framework and novel cross-chain dApp capabilities give us an edge.

— -

Community: When delegating my tokens, should I choose a commission rate of 5% or 10%? Are my tokens safe when delegated?

Venky (Router Team): The decision depends on retaining more rewards (lower commission) versus ensuring validator reliability and performance. Your tokens are generally safe when delegated, but you should research validator performance and slashing history.

— -

Community: Are Router team members the primary developers of most intent adapters? How many other projects are building on Router intents? Are the intent adapters audited?

Shubham (Router Team): The base framework is set by the Router team, but new developers are building adapters. We are collaborating with over 20 teams and will soon launch hackathons to onboard more developers. All production adapters are audited.

Priyeshu (Router Team): We will introduce an ecosystem grants program to support projects building on Router with structured grants.

— -

Community: Why do some validators on the new chain show rewards while others do not? I staked on 13 validators, but the page shows only 10.

Venky (Router Team): Rewards depend on factors like delegated stake and validator performance. Validators with higher stakes and better performance generally earn more rewards. The discrepancy in the number of validators shown might be a UI issue.

— -

Community: Can Router Protocol create cross-chain integrations similar to Solana Blinks? Can this be integrated into web2?

Priyeshu (Router Team): We are exploring Blinks integration for Solana, aiming to offer chain-abstracted Blinks.

— -

Community: Can you provide data on intent adapters?

Abhishek (Router Team): Our intent adapters have processed over 50k transactions and ~$18M in volume, showing significant growth.

— -

Community: What daily volume are you targeting for Nitro by the end of the year?

Ramani (Router Team): We aim to match the market leader’s volume by the end of the year, driven by aggregator and adapter integrations and ecosystem growth.

— -

Community: Are there other projects besides FolioX and StakeEase building on Router Chain? How many?

Ramani (Router Team): Yes, several exciting projects are building on Router. Some are in stealth mode, but we expect to make major announcements soon.
