We are pleased to announce that Router Protocol has completed an oversubscribed strategic funding round, which garnered participation from prominent crypto angels and venture funds.

The primary objective of the strategic round is to thoughtfully expand Router’s cap table with crypto operators who deeply understand the importance of cross-chain infrastructure and can accelerate the ecosystem growth as Router evolves into a Layer 1 blockchain.

Our Investors

We are honored to welcome an exceptional group of accomplished founders and web3 executives as angels and advisors, including Keone Hon (Monad), Anurag Arjun (Avail), Amrit Kumar (Altlayer), Parker Jou (Caldera), Aniket Jindal (Biconomy), Amitej Gajjala (Stader), Ravindra Kumar (Frontier), and several others.

In a testament to the unwavering belief in our vision, we also received overwhelming support from our existing investors, including heavyweight players such as Wintermute Ventures, Woodstock Fund, DeFi Capital, CryptoBanter (Ran Neuner), RavenDAO, and Luganodes.

Other renowned advisors and angels include Zaki Manian (Sommelier/Cosmos), Ajit Tripathi (@chainyoda), Gokul Rajaram (Google/Doordash), and Surojit Chatterjee (Coinbase, Google, Flipkart, EMA).

The proceeds from this funding round will be strategically allocated to fuel the development and highly anticipated launch of the Router Chain mainnet. Router chain offers features that simplify building chain-abstracted experiences, such as cross-chain meta transactions, decentralized cross-chain read requests, transaction batching, and additional security module (ASM) compatibility.

Router Protocol has previously raised funds from Coinbase Ventures, QCP Capital, and Polygon Ventures.

Upcoming Router Chain Mainnet

Our dedicated team of 20+ developers has spent over two years building the Router Chain. What the team has achieved is no small feat. Router Chain introduces stateful interoperability to Web3, enabling interoperable DApps to be built on top of it.

This represents a paradigm shift from the current approach to building DApps, where DApps have to deploy on a single chain and then customize experiences for users of different chains. In the former approach, DApp developers can never reach their potential as users continue operating in their usual chains. Router Chain fixes this — it allows developers to offer native experiences of their DApps on all the chains. We are bringing chain abstraction to life.

Liquidity bridge on top of Router Chain — Nitro has already processed over $350m in volume with over 310,000 users. Various Layer-1s like Arthera and Saakuru have used Router Chain to deploy their canonical bridges. Router Chain also empowers the robust CCIF framework, which has been used to build interoperability adapters for Lido, Stakestone, and Lynex. This is just the tip of the iceberg, with numerous Router Chain-related integrations in the background.

To further accelerate ecosystem growth, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the Router Ecosystem Grants Program, which will provide substantial financial support and resources to promising projects building on the Router Chain. Moreover, our recently revamped tokenomics empowers us to aggressively focus on community engagement, ecosystem expansion, and the promotion of exciting new cross-chain primitives that will redefine the interoperability landscape.

The Future — Chain Abstracted

Router Protocol’s existing product suite is a testament to our commitment to building highly user-friendly cross-chain applications. Our intent adapters and cross-chain bridge are tools designed to achieve complete chain abstraction powered by Router Chain.

Our aim has always been to create a chain-abstracted world for users. Our future will be defined by an aggressive approach to making that vision a reality. With several integrations across major chains like Bitcoin and major tier-1 applications already lined up, we’re excited to revolutionize the world of chain abstractions.

Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the interoperability space!
