Development updates

Last week updates

  • Testing for Harmony and Cronos integration is completed and soon you will be able to swap across these chains as well on the Router app.
  • Widget improvements — provide a bias towards certain dex based on the requirement of the partner integrating the widget. This functionality is now ready and can be availed by our partners.
  • API for integrating swap functionality — we have recently launched APIs to integrate the Router’s asset swap functionality. This will enable projects to power their cross-chain transfers easily using the Router infrastructure.
  • Improvements on the same chain swaps contract on the Router app — we have added the capability to do the same chain swaps with a different destination address in our contracts.

This week’s focus

  • JS SDK — continued effort on JS SDK which will allow projects to integrate cross-chain swaps/transfers from their applications.
  • Testing for following integrations — Aurora chain integration, 1Inch integration, Dynamic gas price module integration.
  • Integration of staking contract on the Router UI and adding the capability to add a different destination address for same chain swaps on Router UI.
  • Fee module upgrades — we are in the process of making our fee module for token swaps more robust and dynamic. The work on this has been started and is expected to be complete in the next couple of weeks.
  • Voting optimization — we continue to focus on optimizing our voting mechanism with a focus on reducing the overall voting cost and making it more scalable for being able to add more validators in the future for the voting on the destination chain. This is a longer project and is expected to take around 2.5–3 months to complete.

Router CrossTalk (Solidity SDK) progress

  • We are currently working on an enhancement that will allow projects to transfer funds and instructions and sequence them in the order they want. This will be particularly useful for Defi projects which want to go cross-chain as they can make sure that funds are moved across chains and then the instruction is executed.

Audit Updates

  • We have received the final reports for the audit from the Hacken team. We are in the process of reviewing them. Once the review is completed, we will open them up for a bigger audience. The reports include — bridge integration tests and audit, staking audit, and CrossTalk audit.

Marketing Updates

This was certainly a big week from the marketing front.

We understand that seamless interoperability offered by a plug-and-play framework from a development perspective is unprecedented and might require some assistance to integrate into existing projects. Hence this week, we kicked things off by conducting a community AMA on Twitter around CrossTalk Library. It was an interactive session and empowered multiple developers from our community to start integrating CrossTalk Alpha in their dev-environments

This week Router Widget also got its first adopter: Dfyn. Dfyn is a Multi-Chain DEX that is built by the same team behind the Router Protocol. With this integration, Dfyn users can now conduct seamless cross-chain transactions without leaving the platform. This opens up Dfyn’s user base beyond the scope of its native networks of Fantom and Polygon. Router Widget’s documentation is available at:

Remember Voyage 1.0? The trading competition we initiated earlier this month to attract new users and popularise the use case of cross-chain transactions. Well, that just concluded with over $33 Million trading volume, 7000+ transactions, and 314 new additions to our tribe of voyagers. The event was a huge success and we dispersed the awards earlier this week to all the winners.

And finally, we JUST announced the launch of Voyage 2.0. This 12-day-long event is the second edition of our aforementioned trading competition. In this edition, the rewards are bigger and the stakes are higher. Know all about the rules of participation, award distribution, and other details here.
