We are pleased to announce that we will be integrating Avalanche, a decentralized, open-source blockchain platform, into our newly launched cross-chain XCLP testnet and later the mainnet. The integration will enable Avalanche users to seamlessly plug into the Router liquidity super mesh and transfer assets between Avalanche and four other blockchain networks.

Since the launch of its mainnet late last year, interoperability has been one of the main focuses of the Avalanche network. While the Avalanche ecosystem has seen significant growth since the launch of the Avalanche-Ethereum Bridge last month, it needs more solutions for interoperability in order to reach its true potential. With over 500 ERC-20 tokens and more than 50 different projects deployed on the blockchain, expanding the liquidity on Avalanche is of high importance.

Integrating with Router’s newly launched XCLP testnet will help Avalanche achieve this goal even faster. The testnet currently enables users to swap stable coin assets between the testnets of Ethereum (Kovan), Matic/Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, and Huobi Chain.

The swaps take less than 1 minute on the testnet to complete. The swaps will take a similar time on the mainnet as well.

While the current version of the XCLP testnet only enables stable coin swaps, the upcoming version of the protocol will enable the transfer and swaps of various other tokens. To achieve this, we will be employing our multi-chain AMM, the Dyfn Network on various chains.

There are a few key points that make Router Protocol’s overall approach to cross-chain liquidity stand out. Firstly, the protocol has no fragmentation of token liquidity many cross-chain solutions suffer from. The protocol also offers unified gas fees, which means swapping asset A for asset B on another chain will be made both faster and cheaper without users having to worry about maintaining gas assets of different chains. Users will be able to set the parameters of the trade, optimizing for both price and execution certainty.

Finally, Router’s all-important characteristic is the fact that it enables its users to delegate. Users holding ROUTE tokens will be able to provide liquidity to the platform through validator nodes and earn a share of the gas fees charged by the platform for enabling cross-chain transactions.

Router Protocol’s entire codebase will be available for developers as a plug-and-play module. The entire process of cross-chain transfers and swaps has been abstracted so the developers can be free to focus on building products. All of the heavy lifting regarding inter-blockchain communication and transfers will be done by Router.

Users interested in participating in the XCLP testnet can access it here and use our faucet where they can get all the testnet coins they need.

We plan on launching the mainnet for all of the chains currently included in the XCLP testnet in the next 4 to 6 weeks. The XCLP program will also work on adding liquidity mining for ROUTE and its partner token DYFN.

We are very excited to onboard Avalanche network to our cross-chain network and our liquidity mesh. Our goal is to provide a frictionless experience to users who want to enter the Avalanche eco-system from other chains.

About Router Protocol

Router Protocol is building a suite of cross-chain liquidity infra primitives that aims to seamlessly provide bridging infrastructure between current and emerging Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchain solutions.

About Avalanche

Avalanche is an open-source platform for launching decentralized applications and enterprise blockchain deployments in one interoperable, highly scalable ecosystem. Avalanche is the first decentralized smart contracts platform built for the scale of global finance, with near-instant transaction finality. Ethereum developers can quickly build on Avalanche as Solidity works out-of-the-box.
