Router’s Intent Adapter for Aerodrome is now LIVE!
Simplifying Liquidity Provisioning on Base Chain — Bring Any Token from Any Chain to provide liquidity on Aerodrome
Following the successful launch of Router Chain, we are thrilled to announce the release of our latest Intent Adapter, built using Router’s Cross-chain Intent Framework: AERODROME (https://poc.routerintents.com/apps/aerodrome)!
Router’s Intent Adapter for Aerodrome streamlines the process of depositing liquidity on Base Chain by allowing users to deposit assets from any chain/any token without the hassle of chain juggling on a single interface.
But before we spill all the beans, let’s take a moment to introduce you to — Aerodrome!
What is Aerodrome?
Aerodrome Finance is a next-generation AMM designed to serve as Base’s central liquidity hub, combining a powerful liquidity incentive engine, vote-lock governance model, and friendly user experience. Aerodrome inherits the latest features from Velodrome V2.
User Journey: The Existing Process On Aerodrome
Aerodrome is a fantastic platform with plenty of opportunities for liquidity providers. However, adding liquidity can be a bit complex if your funds are on other chains (other than Base Chain). Here’s a quick look at what’s involved:
- Bridge Your Funds: First, you need to bridge your funds over to the Base Chain. This step takes time and comes with gas fees, so buckle up!
- Convert Your Tokens: Want to join a USDC/AERO pool? You’ll need to convert your transferred assets, such as USDT from another chain, into USDC and AERO to fit the pool’s requirements.
- Multiple Swaps: Now you have to swap part of your USDT for USDC and the rest for AERO. Each swap needs its own transaction and approval, meaning more gas fees and more time spent.
- Pay Gas Fees in ETH: You’ll need ETH to cover gas fees on Base. If you don’t have ETH on Base, you’ll need to take extra steps to get it.
Once you’ve jumped through all these hoops, you can finally start adding liquidity. This process takes time, energy, and a pretty good understanding of DeFi to pull off. For many users, it’s just too much of a hassle.
So, can we really afford to go through all this? For most users, the answer is probably no!
But don’t worry, we’ve got a solution!
Introducing Router’s Intent Adapter for Aerodrome!
We will come to the theory of it, but you can first check out the proof-of-concept of the Aerodrome adapter, which is already LIVE here — https://poc.routerintents.com/apps/aerodrome
With Router’s Intent Adapter for Aerodrome, depositing liquidity on the Base Chain is now easier than ever. Whether you’re holding tokens on Arbitrum, Linea, or any other chain, you can seamlessly choose your liquidity pair and deploy liquidity on Base — all in one simple step. Just select your chain, token, and liquidity pair, and let us handle the rest!
Once you’ve added liquidity, you’ll receive LP tokens that can be staked directly on the same interface, allowing you to start earning yields immediately.
We’ve chosen the USDC <> AERO pair for this adapter (because why not, it’s Aerodrome!). The entire process is incredibly fast and efficient. Imagine how easy your life would be if you could execute this intent in a single step, single interface and start earning rewards immediately!
The Aerodrome Intent Adapter also includes a key feature of Aerodrome Finance: the ability to choose between volatile and stable liquidity pools when providing liquidity:
- Volatile Pools: Aerodrome’s volatile pools allow users to engage with pairs that have higher potential returns due to price fluctuations. This option suits those looking for greater rewards despite the risks of price volatility and impermanent loss.
- Stable Pools: For users preferring lower risk, Aerodrome’s stable pools focus on pairs with minimal price volatility, such as stablecoins. These pools offer steady, predictable returns and are perfect for conservative investors.
Try the Aerodrome Intent Adapter now and transform your DeFi experience into a hassle-free and seamless journey. Enjoy chain abstraction without worrying about where your funds are held.
So how did we do this?
The Aerodrome adapter sequences transactions with the help of Router Nitro, allowing custom logic and transaction sequences to be embedded in cross-chain transaction flows. Once users initiate transactions on their chosen chain, assets are bridged to the Base chain using Nitro. Then, the Cross-Chain Intent Framework (CCIF) executes the custom transactions, ultimately adding liquidity to Aerodrome.
You can also check out our Router Intent Adapter Store, which serves as a repository of open-source ‘Adapters’ that are smart contracts designed to execute user intents on the blockchain. Developers can use them to transform their existing dApps into cross-chain applications or to create new, seamless cross-chain dapps (including but not limited to EVM and Cosmos-based chains).
Stay tuned for more adapters and reach out to us on our Discord channel to learn more.
